David’s Tent 2026

I will be painting at David’s Tent 2026, a gathering centred around simply worshipping Jesus.

David’s Tent is a place where worship takes many forms — through music, prayer, creativity, community and the arts. This year, I’m excited to take part in “Worship Through Art,” creating paintings as I respond to what God is doing and expressing through colour, movement and creativity what I encounter in the moment.

I’m excited to be exhibiting my artwork alongside many other talented artists connected with Waverley Abbey, as part of this special day celebrating creativity, worship and community.

The retreat will bring together artists and creatives from different disciplines, creating space to explore, learn, worship and share our work. I’m looking forward to seeing how the day unfolds and being part of a community where creativity and faith come together.

Prophetic art is a way of communicating something from Heaven through creativity. It is not simply about making something beautiful; it is about making visible what we see, sense, or encounter in God’s presence.

We can remember the purpose of prophecy through ABCD:

A — Always
B — Builds up
C — Encourages
D — Draws us nearer to Jesus

Prophetic art should do the same.

Sometimes, during worship, an artist may see an image, colour, movement, scene, or picture. They can paint what they see, allowing that impression to become a visual message. Not everyone sees what the artist sees, so the painting can become a window that gives others a glimpse of what the artist is encountering with God.

But the purpose is not simply to create something mysterious or interesting. We should always ask: Does it build up? Does it encourage? Does it draw people closer to Jesus?

If it does, the artwork can become an invitation—to see, encounter, worship, and come closer to Jesus.

Prophetic art does not replace or add to Scripture. Instead, it can illustrate and communicate something that points people back to what God has already revealed.

The artist is not the source. Jesus is the Source. We simply become willing vessels, listening, watching, creating, and making visible what we believe God is showing us.

Sometimes a colour, movement, landscape, or image can communicate what words cannot.

That is the heart of prophetic art: seeing what Heaven is showing and creating a doorway for others to encounter Jesus.
